‘Another You and Me Song’ takes a cultural swipe at the 90’s

Release Date – 28th May 2020

Words: Dan Smith

Girls Like Mystery (name inspired by The Cribs track, I know, I asked) have dropped a hard-hitting single ‘Another You and Me Song’.

With wailing vocals mixed in with heavy guitars, I took this almost as a swipe at the generic love songs we heard in the 90’s with the likes of Blink 182, Good Charlotte and Green Day.

Then half way through the song, it almost modernises itself with the use of a groovy synth, at which point I absolutely fell in the love with track!

The young band hailing from the UK, Ireland & the USA then follow up with a rocking solo before the final chorus, at which point you’re completely hooked to the track.

And just like you were in the 90’s, you’re rocking along with your shark tooth necklace screaming at the top of your lungs “yeah you and me, just as happy as we can be, just another day of fantasy, just one more day for you and me!”
